Congratulations on your bundle of joy! What an exciting and joyous time of your life. I can still remember when I had my first born, as if it was yesterday. These little ones grow so fast. In a blink of an eye they are ready to conquer the world! That is why I am here to capture those little toes and wiggly nose so there will always be a photo to look back on. Believe it or not, I'm tearing just writing this down.
My newborn sessions are meant to be stress free and relaxing. Seriously, "RELAX", let me be the one to take on the stress! Come on in to my home studio as we capture your little one(s).
My newborn sessions are taken inside my home. Although I can travel to you (which I can), I prefer having it inside my home studio. If you are anything like me, when I know someone is coming over to my house...I panic and make sure the house is somewhat presentable. I really don't want you to feel like you need to or have to do this. Coming over would allow you to be less stressed about having someone at your home. You can just focus on getting the baby ready for the photoshoot - and of course yourself if you plan to be part of the photos! Sessions typically last around 2-3 hours. This will allow room for the baby to be fed and changed during the session.
When working with babies their safety and comfortability is the utmost priority. To make you feel at ease, I have a lot of experience with newborns and babies. I have been since I was 10 years old. I have babysit my own nieces and nephews since they were born (and I have over 30 of them)! I worked in daycare/early childhood education for 3 years. I continued working with children as a mental health practitioner for 2 years and now I have two of my own. So, be reassure that your little one is in good hands.
Time is sensitive when it comes to capturing your little one. The ideal time would be within 1-2 weeks of the baby's life. I know it is hard to try to squeeze in another appointment during this time frame, but babies are not as sleepy after a certain amount of time. Not to say I won't capture a newborn at 3 or 4 weeks old, but ideally 1-2 weeks is best. Please reach out before the baby gets here so we can plan accordingly. Mostly so I can get an idea of how you imagine your photos.
